Oh, btw be sure to read to the end to get the exclusive first Deebās details on a new surprise Iāll be releasing in a few weeks.
Without further ado, let me introduce you to four stunning prints that will add unique pops of color and beauty to your home decor. So, letās revamp your space with some bold and stylish art, by showing some love in-depth love to two previously released prints during my shop’s grand opening, back in August, this year.
Then, weāll take a first glimpse tour at my upcoming art releases that will help redefine your decor.
Two Previous Print Release From my shop opening
My official art store mogigi.shop was launched on Shopify about 3-4 months ago. Part of that release included two of my 8 x 10 prints from my motivational womenās series:
Growing Confidently, celebrates confidence in style with this stunning fashionista of a minimalist design. Her pose, along with the handwritten message gives a beautiful reminder that you can grow into your individual confidence.
While also looking fabulous with her own sense of style, featuring a delicate floral dress in rich tones of teals, greens, purples, and burnt oranges. Her luscious Afro hair further embodies just how versatile black beauty truly is everyday.
As We Stand: continuing with the minimalist vibes, are two black females standing in support of each other. Soft tones of muted pinks, creams, and grays offer a subtle touch of elegance in this positive and uplifting print. The inspiration for this simple, but powerful illustration was this gorgeous photographic shot I found on Pinterest.
The image immediately spoke of a sense of confidence to me. As well as, a feeling of community, and solidarity that can be nurtured amongst women of color
Two New Upcoming Additions to the MoGigi art print collection!
Yellow Garden,Ā exudes style, grace, and sureness. Adorned by vibrant shades of green and blue of a springtime garden. This chic girl rocks her favorite pink bodycon dress, embracing her unique beauty with bold, natural curly hair in shades of pink and orange. Thereās a bit of mystery to her, but at the same time, sheās giving a vibe that she knows her worth.
Inner Beauty: reflects the power of embracing one’s inner beauty, surrounded by lush green botanical leaves. It serves as a positive reminder to celebrate your own unique qualities. This piece was inspired by the thoughts of recognizing and valuing the inner qualities of oneās inner qualities and character. It also serves as a visualānote to selfāto remember to appreciate the things that we can tend to forget within ourselves. Think of Inner Beauty as an artistic reminder to speak kindly to yourself.
Yellow Garden and Inner Beauty are two exciting additions to my print collection. So, donāt miss your chance to be among the first to own one or both. Head over to MoGigi and secure your order before they fly off the shelves!
Each of these four prints celebrates diversity, embracing all skin complexions, sizes, and individual styles while creating a captivating space.
Deeper Dive
As you can probably tell, I love illustrating female characters, especially African American women. Being a black woman myself, I want to create more art where we are represented and depicted in beautiful imagery next to positive, encouraging, motivating themes.
My work is primarily developed from sketch concepts to fully rendered pieces with my portable art studio, my iPad Pro 11 inch, and the best drawing app on the market, Procreate. I really do mean it when I say these two components are my studio. I have the flexibility to paint in any setting anywhere.
As a matter of fact, all of the prints I mentioned in this post were created while I was relaxing on my couch or bed, listening to Spotify, or watching a show in the background. Often, Iād work on these pieces while relaxing on the porch or when Iām out and about.
Inspiration for my work comes from various sources. Pinterest is my staple in my art process workflow, from sketching concepts to getting color palette ideas and photo references.
For instance, āGrowing Confidentlyā, was inspired by the fierce pose of this queen. Specifically, I wanted to give her a dressy outfit, and this floral pattern caught my eye.
From here, what I like to do is reimagine the inspiration reference photos, into my composition, and work out my character design such as features, expressions, and additional details to help support the overall feel of the illustration.
Sometimes, it can be either a word or an overall feeling I have that evokes an interpretation of what Iām viewing.
Then other times, an idea of what I want to draw is already there in my memory bank. Or, itās from one of my many never-ending brain dump lists. As the old saying goes, āthereās nothing new under the sun,ā so multiple things can end up influencing me.
If you like to see more of my drawing process, check out my post on Black Women Maternity Health, where I talk about my process for a client project I had the honor to work on.

Anyway, with each of my illustrations, like my prints featured here, thereās an underline thought I noticed I would tell a friend or a stranger, but somehow fail to tell to myself sometimes. There are moments I have to stop and be mindful that I need to speak more kindly to myself, give myself a bit of grace.
Being human, we have a tendency to be very hard on ourselves more than anyone else majority of the time. The mind is a powerful thing and when Iām illustrating a particular piece. I try my best to convey those positive and uplifting messages through my art.
Hopefully my work will feel relatable and encouraging to you and others as well.
